Beschreibung: | The Ludwig Boltzmann Institute Applied Diagnostics in Vienna, Austria (https://www.applieddiagnostics.at/), follows a new dual biomarker concept for tumor diagnosis. The focus of the institute lies on the development of non-invasive diagnostic methods combining molecular epigenetic and genetic signatures and molecular imaging biomarkers for PET and SPECT. The combination of these two methods will allow for improved functional, spatial and temporal assessment of tumor load and molecular tumor characterization. We have an open position with start date September 2019 for a postdoctoral fellow in the area of radiotracer development within the institute’s program line Imaging Biomarkers. Candidates with a strong radiopharmaceutical background and the desire to get involved in applicationdriven and translational research are encouraged to apply. The candidate will work in a stimulating, interdisciplinary environment (radiopharmacy/-chemistry, nuclear medicine, chemistry, pharmacology and health economics) at the General Hospital of Vienna, the Medical University Vienna, and the University of Vienna. |
Qualifizierung: | Desired Skills and Experience • Degree in radiopharmaceutical sciences (Ph.D.) or related fields • Research experience with diagnostic and therapeutic radiometals, bioconjugation techniques as well as in synthetic organic/inorganic chemistry and analytical techniques (e.g., tlc, NMR, HPLC, SEC, MS) • Experience with biological assays would be advantageous • Good communication skills in English and/or German is required. • Motivation to work in a transdisciplinary team |
Vergütung in EUR: | The position is available for 1-2 years based on an evaluation after one year. Willingness to apply for external funding is expected. The salary will be based on experience and according to rates of the Austrian Science Foundation (FWF). |
Bewerbungsschluß: | k.A. |
Zusätzliche Information: | The successful candidate will develop novel PET and SPECT tracers for tumor-targeting based on radiometal-labelled small molecules or peptides/proteins and take part in the biological testing of the new compounds in vitro and in vivo. |
Bewerbungsadresse: | Application documents (cover letter, Curriculum Vitae, and contact data of 2-3 references) should be sent to Prof. Dr. Thomas Mindt: Thomas.Mindt@lbiad.lbg.ac.at |
